Trail Conditions

December 30, 2025, 4:00 PM

We had high winds last night which caused a number of branches and trees to fall on the trails. Paul and I spent all day removing the majority of debris from the trails but there are still a number of sticks remaining. Caution should be exercised. We ask that any members who are volunteers if you could help in removing the remaining sticks and branches while skiing. The base is in very good condition. We will be doing a full groom sometime tomorrow.

Groomers are currently out working on the trails. Last evenings wind brought down more twigs and branches so clearing those will add significant time to the grooming. Although the base is solid, because of the debris, rock skis are recommended. The north classic track on the Hardwood loop is in fairly good shape.  We will have an update later in the day.

We are waiting for the weather to get a bit colder so the groomers can go out on the trails. Besides helping to dry the trails the wind has taken down branches and limbs that need to be removed. We have water that has pooled in the low areas but will harden as the temperature gets colder. Keep your fingers crossed that we get the snow that is forecasted for this week. We will update when we get more information from the groomers.

Mery Christmas,

All trails and track were reset this morning. Scott and Ross Martin provided their Side-by-Side to the club so that we could pull our groomer. Both of our primary and backup machines had catastrophic failures and are currently being repaired. The trails are back in good condition with only a few areas that have ice and bare spots which can be avoided. Enjoy your ski.

Just back from my Christmas morning ski. We apologize for yesterday’s conditions but we were busy fixing our grooming equipment. Thanks to staff and volunteers who worked into the dark fixing our equipment. Conditions today are much better. Hardwood loop is best but other trails are also good. Be aware of ice in low spots and twig and leaf debris as a result of the winds. Thanks to Mark for grooming Christmas morning. An update repot to follow.

All main trails have had at least two grooming passes. A single grooming pass was done on purple/yellow parallel to county rd. 16 and the inner loop in the pits. Yellow from the pavilion to Ken’s lane, blue, and orange under the communications tower are not groomed. At least 15 cm of heavy snow allowed for a solid packing of snow on our ski trails. Many skiers were out enjoying the new snow. Selection of wax will be important for skiers to experience a good glide.
