SNOW FARMERS​

Snow Farming

Date: On going during the ski season. You will be contacted when needed.

Where: Meet at the Maintenance Building, lower parking lot.

Details

  • At times, our trails require Snow Farmers to shovel snow onto the trails.
  • Many hands make light work. Snow
  • If you are in good shape and want a work out, consider adding your name to this Volunteer List.

TREE DEBRIS REMOVAL AFTER WINDY/ICY WEATHER

Date: On going during the ski season after a windy/icy/stormy day.

Where: Maintenance Building in lower parking lot if working with Managers.

DetailsOur members know…”It’s the base that counts,” so routinely remove debris using their ski poles, every time they are out for a ski. Thank you!

  • After a storm, a fan rake can efficiently move small branches, twigs and leaf debris to the edge of the trails. This task can be done under the supervision of our Managers or independently.
  • Team up with the Managers to remove larger trees and limbs and other tasks.

PAVILION ON THE WEEKENDS

Date: Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting)

Where: Pavilion, lower level, upper parking lot

Details:

  • Promote the Club and Volunteering, answer questions, and assist paid staff with rentals when required.
  • Always check the Club’s webpage for current conditions and whether the Pavilion will be open before you leave home. mononordic.com

CIDER HUT / FIRE PIT / AMBASSADOR PATROL

Date: Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm

Where: Cider Hut on Blue Trail

Details: Teams of 2, tag team to monitor fire pit, plus act as Ambassadors on the trail.

  • Light, extinguish, monitor the fire, hand out fire pit forks 
  • Promote the Club, Membership  and Volunteering 
  • As litter-less event, remind guests to “Leave nothing but foot prints/ski tracks left behind.”

JACKRABBIT PROGRAM ASSISTANTS

Jack Rabbits

Date: Sundays arrive at 1:30 pm,  Lessons start at 2:00 pm.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM

Date: Starting second week in January until March Break, weather permitting 

Where: At the lower level of the Pavilion

Details:

  • Act as guides for Elementary School Students 
  • Join a mentor and become familiar with the program 
  • Lead guides require a Vulnerable Police Check.
  • Contact School Program Co-ordinator for 

further information to add your name to the list.

LADIES DAY

Date: Mid January

Where: Pavilion at Monora Park

Details:

  • Committee Organizers and a Volunteer Crew to set up the Friday, and to perform a variety of tasks on the Saturday.

THE TOWN OF MONO WINTERFEST

Winterfest

Date: First Sunday in February

Where: !!!Event Location is Mono Centre 754483 Mono Centre Road!!! Not Monora Park  

Details: 

  • Staff outdoor Ski Experience and help with distribution of equipment
  • Promote Mono Nordic
  • Experienced skier to provide a lesson

Details: 

  • Looking for Committee members
  • Variety of Tasks, including help with distribution of ski equipment.  
  • Promote Mono Nordic Ski Club
  • Experienced skiers to provide a lesson, plus act as Club Ambassadors on the trails
