Trail Conditions

Mar. 7, 2025.

Mar. 7, 2025.         12:30 PM
All trails groomed except blue and orange (Carpetland). Track was set on all red trails, and yellow from the pavilion to orange was double track set. Track was also set on orange from Hully Gulley bypass to Ken’s Lane and Salt’s Stairway was also completed. Track sets in the pits and yellow parallel to County Rd. 16 are still visible. No track set on Ken’s Lane, yellow/purple behind the pond and outer yellow due to track set malfunction. Trails had a deep corduroy imprint and were hard and fast early this morning. The sun was warming the ski base in the pits perhaps slowing the pace of skiing. Certainly a beautiful day to enjoy excellent ski conditions.

We had 1 to 2cm of new snow overnight. The base is in very good condition. Most trails were groomed this morning and track reset. The surface will be fast but not hard. There is water on the Purple where it crosses the pit road and the return on the inner Purple also has water below the surface but the surface should be able to support a skier. The Yellow trail from the Pavilion to Orange and the Blue were not groomed. There is some debris on the trails due to wind gusts. The rain and warm temperatures had little effect on the trails except as mentioned. We will groom again this evening.

March 3, 2025.        9:30 PM

All trails groomed except blue, yellow from the pavilion to orange, Sud’s Summit, and Salt’s Stairway. Inner and outer red, the pits, and orange were done with a single pass of the groomer. Grooming conditions allowed for a deep scuffle of the base however, skiing should remain fast tomorrow morning and as temperatures rise in the afternoon the base will soften and become slower. Get out and enjoy some great skiing!

All trails were groomed and track reset this evening except Blue. The trails are in excellent condition and will be fast. The connector trail from Post 26 to the inner Purple has not been groomed as large snow banks are blocking access. This may be difficult to remove. You can ski through as some have already done. Should be a nice day to ski on Sunday.

Feb. 28, 2025.      1:30 PM

A complete groom and track set of all trails was completed today. Conditions before snow flurries began just as the grooming was being finished were fast and some thought a little icy. However, with additional snow falling any minor inconveniences should work themselves out with the right wax selection. Caution should be given as grey ice (tire ruts) could be covered by new snowfall at the top of Ken’s Lane at the green farm gate, as well as at the bottom of Ken’s Lane by another green farm gate that opens into the pit area where ongoing well maintenance continues. Great skiing should continue this weekend!
