Do lots of hiking. If you have hiking/walking poles use them as it will get your body prepared for the motion of classic skiing. As long as there is no snow on the ground, Monora Park is the best place to start hiking. There are also many hiking opportunities on local trails. Maps to other trails in the area can be found at www.headwaterscommunities.org

We recommended a couple local business that supply many of our members with quality ski equipment and good service: Highlands Nordic in Duntroon (south of Collingwood) www.highlandsnordic.ca.

Mono Nordic Ski Club maintains two dog walking trails during the winter ski season. The dog walking trails are at the south end, off the lower parking lot, just east of the Operations building and at the west end of the upper parking lot. (See trail maps.) Walking, hiking, and dogs are not permitted on the ski trails as they cause damage to the trail surface. Please enjoy walking your dog on all trails in the park once the ski season is over.

On weekends and holidays, when weather permits, Ski Services staff will be available at the Monora Park Pavilion, lower level from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist Mono Nordic Members and Visitors. Daily Ski passes and Equipment rentals are available from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM in the Pavilion.

Visitors paying cash for day passes at our honesty boxes are required to sign in on the provided envelopes to ensure they are covered under our club insurance policy.

Snowshoeing and fat biking is not allowed on the ski trails or on the properties that the trails run through. Depending on recent snowfall and activity, you might be able to snow shoe on the walking trails.

Please join us for our Social Ski program. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon at 1:30 PM casual skiers come together to ski the trails. Skiers of all abilities are welcome – participants ski in groups or individually.

By joining the group folks usually meet skiers of similar abilities. Also, many members have met ski partners through volunteer work in the Club.

Skiers are required to carry proof of paid membership or daily trail pass when they are using the trails. In this way we are assured that those using the trails are paid members/visitors and therefore covered by our club insurance policy.

Yes – we welcome guests! The weekday trail fee is payable online (credit card only) or in person (exact cash only) at the drop boxes found at the trail entrance in the lower parking lot and at the bottom of the pavilion stairs. On weekends, guests can purchase Daily Ski Passes and rent equipment from our Ski Services Staff at the Operations Building in the lower parking lot at Monora Park.

Mono Nordic Ski Club is a non profit corporation run by the members of the club. We have a Board of Directors that are responsible for managing the operations and finances of the club. Although we have a few part-time seasonal staff members, our volunteer members assist in running the Club by maintaining trails and equipment, hosting at the pavilion, and running events.

The Club mandate is to provide low cost, high quality cross country skiing opportunities to members of the community, regardless of age or fitness level.

Our trails run through properties owned by the Town of Mono, Credit Valley Conservation Authority and 3 local residents.
