The JackRabbit program is designed for the “FUNdamentals” stage of skill development and is suitable for children 5-10 years of age. The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills and to instil a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.

The JackRabbit program runs each Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:30pm, from the first weekend in January through the first weekend in March (not including the Family Day long weekend).

Registrations can be completed online or in person at our Open House event. There are a limited number of JackRabbit spaces, so please register before December 10th to avoid disappointment. Registration before December 10th also provides the program organizers with adequate time to complete their preparations so the program gets off to a clean start in January.

2017/18 JackRabbit Rates:

  • Jackrabbits: $50 (+ supplemental fee**)

** A supplemental fee of $20 per skier is payable to our parent organizations – Southern Ontario District, Cross Country Ontario and Cross Country Canada. These fees are payable only once per skier, regardless of which programs/membership they are registered for. These fees support the development of cross country skiing in Ontario and Canada as well as providing liability insurance coverage for activities approved by Cross Country Ski de Fond Canada. Also included in the fee are required payments for insurance and ski organization fees.
